Our Mission

We are the High School Ministry of Southcrest Baptist Church. We believe high school is one of the most important times in a person’s life.

Our purpose is to meet students where they are at in life and to bring them closer to Jesus by making much of Him.

For Lubbock.

The mission of ACT NOW for Lubbock is to serve those in our community who are struggling physically, mentally, and emotionally, all while sharing the Gospel. The Bible is filled with examples of God using ordinary people to do extraordinary things! Someone needs the light you have. So pray now, love now, ACT NOW!

For The World.

Muong People, Southeast Asia
The Muong are the second largest ethnic minority group in Vietnam with a population of over 1.2 million. Their worldview is centered on ancestor worship and animism. Animism is the belief that trees, rocks, land, water and other non-living things possess spirits and are worshipped with offerings of food & prayer. The Muong live in fear and hopelessness as they try not to offend these spirits. Challenges involved in reaching the Muong are isolation (rural areas & mountains), drugs (alcohol & opium) and the swift, intense persecution of believers.
River Community Church, Vancouver
God called Brad & Rhonda Forlow, along with their three children—Lauren, Rachel and Ian—to be North American Mission Board church planting missionaries in Steveston (metro Vancouver) British Columbia. Brad serves as the Lead Pastor of River Community Church. Steveston is extremely ethnically diverse with over 125 different ethnic people groups. Spiritual poverty & darkness abounds amidst the wealth due to the prominence of spiritual indifference and the prevalence of world religions. There are many intellectual and emotional barriers and walls to the truth of the Gospel. River Community Church is a church passionate about changing lives, transforming communities and impacting the nations. They are committed to making, equipping and sending out disciple-making believers to engage and impact the community.
Youth Evangelism Strategies, Gallup
This ministry began when the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota was confronted with the suicide of 53 adolescents within a two-month period; 53 youth between the ages of 8 & 14 killed themselves in less than two months. Something had to be done. What followed was the founding of a camp to reach Native American youth. Our ministry is an extension of the local church. We are presently spreading the gospel through summer camp programs in Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Lakota Homes (in Rapid City, SD) and Gallup, NM. Hundreds of youth from the hardest places in the U.S. hear the Truth of God every summer as we minister to our forgotten Native people.
